I'm sitting here at work, dreading an upcoming afternoon of meetings, and dreaming of a vodka and tonic already. On a whim I typed "vodka tonic" into Google and found a
site full of photographs taken through an optical microscope. The images are simply stunning. Some of them are more artistic and evocative than paintings I have seen. Here's what vodka and tonic look like under the microscope:

The microscopy folks have also photographed all kinds of beer, wine, burgers and fries, and Ben and Jerry's ice cream, along with more traditional subjects like nucleotides, amino acids, and hormones.
Newcastle Brown Ale looks like a Van Gogh wheat field on fire.
Chianti looks like a butterfly's wing scales. See what your favorite drink or snack
looks like. (K. - here's your Salty Dog.)
